Yves Randoux CEO Groupement des Cartes Bancaires CB Following the advent of the euro and the launch of the new EMV standard, there are now an increasing number of initiatives to institute a Single European Payment Area. To this end, other entities, such as the European Payments Council, have been created to provide a new point of view and suggest new initiatives, alongside existing European institutions. Cartes Bancaires, which is steering European projects like FINREAD and c-TRAVEL, plays an active role in the EPC. Our aim is to strengthen the European payments system in which the bankcard plays a leading role, promote the emergence of common card usage across Europe, and boost European cooperation to ensure a greater level of security.
