Yves Randoux
CEO Groupement des Cartes Bancaires CB
Experiencing rapid growth over the past decade, the CB bankcard payment system has constantly kept up with retailers' needs and the necessary and ongoing requirement for greater security. To accompany these changes in a consultative and effective manner that is in the best interest of all stakeholders, Cartes Bancaires has put to the electronic payment profession a new working framework that will be formalised by a protocol agreement. This agreement will institute a real partnership and close consultation between stakeholders, notably in the area of research and development of new products. A new era is thus beginning for manufacturers, banks and consumers.
The feature section of this issue of CB MAG gives an insight into the many facets of the French smart bank card industry, as well as the challenges resulting from this protocol agreement.
