In France, the migration to EMV is gathering pace. Six payment terminal manufacturers are continuing their EMV pilot tests with around 120 retailers. Wynid and Moneyline are also carrying out tests with six mass distribution chains (Auchan, Coop, Champion, Décathlon, Intermarché and Leclerc). Over 250 checkouts equipped with CB5.2 Eftpos terminals have been installed at 21 different sites. Finally, around 300 mixed CB-B0'/EMV cards are undergoing testing of the manufacturers' new chips (IBM, Schlumberger, Gemplus and Multos). General rollout of these cards got underway in the last quarter of 2003.
