Yves Randoux
CEO Groupement des Cartes Bancaires CB
More than ever, the CB bankcard is the method of payment preferred by the French: each year, more and more people enjoy its flexibility and ease of use. While the card is essential for most everyday purchases, its acceptance is still in its infancy in some sectors (health, markets, etc.), to the dismay of cardholders. To meet their expectations, Cartes Bancaires CB is working with banks and manufacturers to increase points of acceptance. In addition to the CB card conquering these new territories (which you can learn more about in the Feature article in this issue of CB MAG), there are other major projects ahead in 2004: switching EFTPOS terminals and cards to the EMV standard, improving security for remote purchases, and the arrival of the DDA-dynamic data authentication card. We hope you enjoy this issue of CB MAG, and wish all our readers an excellent New Year!
