A small revolution has occurred in the
UK: the smart bank card has rapidly taken root in the everyday life
of the British.
|
The switch to EMV is a small revolution in the British electronic
payment sector as it concerns around one million sales outlets and
122 million bankcards that will be brought up to the new EMV
standard by the end of 2004. These new smart cards have already cut
fraud by two thirds in just several months. The time to process transactions
has also been reduced by two thirds. British consumers appreciate
the new level of ease of use, and have been quick to adopt their PIN.
These are all good reasons for the British retail sector to be pleased
with this choice, and for the French retail sector to be proud to
have always been in the forefront in this area! For more
