The latest for distance selling: a new CB card acceptance contract for secure remote payment will shortly be introduced. "It is based on the 3D Secure architecture (see news) and on a clear and balanced breakdown of the responsibilities of all the stakeholders," explained Jean-Pierre Buthion, Manager of Products and Services at Cartes Bancaires.
Another specific sector: video and DVD rentals. "In cooperation with the video rental sector we have defined a CB card payment solution specifically for self-service rental terminals," explained Martine Touzalin, Manager of Products and Acceptance Services at Cartes Bancaires. This solution, backed by a specific acceptance contract, will be subject to a Code of Good Conduct being authored by the sector's representatives. Pilot tests should get underway before the end of the year.
