The third Security Seminar, held on 29th September 2004 in Paris by Mercatel and Cartes Bancaires CB, brought together the security experts from the major French retailers and banks, as well as representatives of law enforcement agencies and the international networks.
The main item on the agenda was a review of actions implemented to combat fraud, with particular emphasis on international cooperation. Representatives of the UK's electronic payment community also presented the progress made in their migration to the EMV standard (Chip & Pin) and the initial encouraging results in terms of payment transaction security.
