Recognised as a key international player in electronic payment, Cartes Bancaires CB has developed close cooperation with other banking associations in Europe. CB is also regularly contacted by various foreign delegations, notably for its experience in the area of smart cards and the migration to EMV in Europe. Recent visits have included delegations from Algeria and China. In September the CB system was discussed with representatives from the Central Bank of China, China Union Pay (the Chinese equivalent of Cartes Bancaires CB), four of the principle Chinese banks, and representatives of Axalto China and France during a European trip that took in several European countries including France, Germany and the UK. At the next Cartes 2004 trade fair, Cartes Bancaires CB will also host some 15 representatives of the Japan Consumer Credit Industry Association who are particularly interested in the credit sector and security.
