| Gilles Guitton, the new Chairman of the Board
of Cartes Bancaires. |
Senior Executive Vice President, Corporate Secretary, Crédit
Agricole S.A., 54-year old Gilles Guitton was appointed Chairman of
the Board of Cartes Bancaires last December. |
Interview with Gilles Guitton : You were unanimously
elected Chairman of the Board of CB. What is your reaction to this
appointment and what weight do you give it?
Of course, I was very honoured by the trust that the Board has
shown in unanimously electing me as its Chairman.
I am also keenly aware of the responsibility that has been placed
in my hands, which is the counterpart for this trust. I will direct
all this responsibility towards serving the company, particularly
the community of men and women who, at all levels and each to the
extent of his or her capabilities, contributes daily to the life of
Cartes Bancaires. How do you see the action of CB today?
CB is a major success. It is the envy of many, in terms of the uniqueness
of its design and the quality of its infrastructure and services.
It is up to us to leverage the full value of these strengths and to
share the exemplary quality of our achievements. For
you, what are the short-term priorities and the longer term projects?
Having been appointed recently, it would be pretentious to detail
an action plan.
What I can say is that I have one goal for Cartes Bancaires, and that
is that it succeeds in overcoming the obstacles placed in its path;
succeeds in aligning itself on a growth and quality trajectory; and,
finally, that it succeeds in being a "reference" for all
who call upon its services now and in the future.
