In early 2004, the French government launched the Adele Programme (Electronic Public Services) to facilitate the public’s access to administrative services and cut costs. This digital revolution – in which Cartes Bancaires is heavily involved – utilises a range of smart cards including the CB bankcard, which is already increasingly being used in the public sector. The banking community has started working on the major changes ahead: eSignature and contactless technology.
