Established by a French Government Decree in February 2003, ADAE (French Agency for the Development of eAdministration) is an inter-ministerial department reporting to the Prime Minister and serving the Minister responsible for State Reform.
Its prime mission is to promote the development of information systems to modernise the operation of State administrative and public services. ADAE therefore contributes to the promotion and coordination of initiatives leading to the computerisation of administrative procedures and the interoperability of information systems (for example, the introduction of new state service cards). It also monitors and assesses these initiatives. ADAE works closely with representatives of government ministries, municipal and regional authorities, public entities, users, companies, and a panel of experts.
