Eurosmart's 10th anniversary.
Brussels, 20th April 2005, Eurosmart invited all of its members, the leading smart card manufacturers and representatives of European institutions to celebrate its 10th anniversary in the presence of special guest Viviane Reding, European Commissioner for Information Society and Media. An international association based in Brussels, Eurosmart promotes the smart card's advantages and developments. It can now boast the cumulative expertise of 34 companies spanning the entire smartcard manufacturing chain. Pooling their research, European smartcard specialists have achieved undeniable recognition for the high level of quality and security assured by their systems and products, and have been able to reach out to public institutions by recommending long-term solutions for identity verification and the management of health information using smart card technology.
