Swiping a card in a terminal...
with the arrival of the contactless
payment card, this gesture
may well disappear. Already in circulation
in the United States and Asia,
this new generation card will make it
possible to further extend the range
of services, and improve cardreader
reliability and maintenance (no more
soiled cards or blockages), and ease
of use for cardholders.
In France and elsewhere in Europe,
the first pilot studies will start up this
year. It will be an opportunity for
Cartes Bancaires to verify the results
of studies carried out since 2004, and
to confirm the performance of this
new technology in terms of speed,
reliability and security.
These tests will also make it possible
to verify interoperability between card
and terminal suppliers, and to better
define user needs..
