The European EPAS project awared ITEA label »
 |
| On 25th October 2006, the
European EPAS (Electronic Protocol
Application Software) project -
involving the harmonisation of
exchange protocols used by
Eftpos terminals - was awarded
the ITEA label (a pan-European
programme) issued by the
European manufacturing sector.
This label means the project can
now apply for national state
funding. Also supported by the
EPC (European Payments Council),
this strategic project for banks
and merchants will result in a real
opening up of acquisition in Europe
to areas other than payment.
By including recent changes to
acquisition (loyalty programmes,
etc.), EPAS - project coordinated by
William Vanobberghen, Manager
International Projects, CB - will
ensure the long-term viability of
the new Eftpos terminal standard. |
