It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of Patrice Hertzog of the Crédit Mutuel National Confederation and Vice Chair of the CB Board of Directors.

Stripe announced today that it is expanding its payment offerings via CB, the leading card and mobile payment system in France.

Viva Wallet, Europe's first electronic money institution, enables its community of French retailers to accept CB payments from 74 million CB cards and mobile payment devices, thereby offering a truly local approach.

This development will significantly facilitate the adoption of SoftPOS technology by retailers and expand the range of use cases for contactless payment acceptance.

On 15 October, Jean-Paul Mazoyer was unanimously elected Chair of the CB Board of Directors for a three-year term.

Open Payment involves using a contactless bank card or smartphone instead of a transport ticket to validate a trip. CB thus recognises the high level of performance achieved by SESAME, which contributes to the smooth operation of urban public transport.

Philippe Laulanie, who has held his position since 16 December 2016, was unanimously re-elected at the General Meeting on 18 June to his role as Director and Chief Executive Officer of the CB Cartes Bancaires consortium.
